Hydrogen Sulfide H2S Awareness + SCBA
H2S awareness and SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus) training is essential for anyone working in environments where hydrogen sulfide (H2S) gas may be present. H2S is a highly toxic, colorless gas with a distinct rotten egg smell, and it can be fatal at high concentrations.
Training focuses on understanding H2S properties, recognizing hazards, using detection equipment, and properly employing SCBA for respiratory protection.
Learning Outcomes
- Participants learn about the immediate and long-term health effects of H2S exposure, including irritation, respiratory problems, and potential loss of consciousness or death at high concentrations
- Participants learn how to properly select, inspect, and wear SCBA for respiratory protection, including donning and doffing procedures, and how to perform routine maintenance.
